One sunny day of this month, my husband and I went hiking.
The 315 meters high mountain is called Satsukiyama and located in Toyonaka city in Osaka prefecture.
It is a low mountain, but the view from the top was quite nice!
It was interesting to see some landmarks as seen on the map.
The onigiri (rice balls) we ate were so tasty and we also enjoyed pleasant breezes.
By the way, in Japan, many bears have been sighted in mountains and also the nearby town, and several people have actually been harmed recently.
I was thinking about if a bear will be appear suddenly, what should I do while I was walking.
I don’t think bears are in this low mountain, though.
At that moment, a small snake ran across in front of me!
I raised my hands in the air and shouted!
To be honest, I’m the most afraid of snakes in the world.
But the snake must have been more afraid of me. Sorry! Phew..
In fact, I had a reason to go to the mountain. There is a zoo and we can see wombats and wallabies there. I wanted to see them for a long time.
I think wombats are rare animals in Japan and we only see them at this zoo.
Moreover, one of the wombats in the zoo has a long life (34 years old) and is listed in the Guinness Book of the world. The age is over 100 if it’s a human.
His name is wine. It’s a unique name, isn’t it?
Then, I learned something very interesting about wombats. When a wombat hides in a hole, it enters head first and leaves behind its buttocks. In other words, it looks like they cover the hole with their buttocks.
Can you imagine? It must be cute, mustn’t it?
Unfortunately, no one did that while I was watching them, though.
It has been a year since I lost my brother.
I don’t know if that is already or not yet.
Still I feel sad sometimes.
Just recently, I had a small argument with my husband.
Later I was walking in a park and saw a unique white cloud.
It reminded me of a photo with iridescent clouds which my brother had sent me.
And at the same time I felt as if he told me, It’s a blessing to have someone to argue with.
Like this, he is always close to me.
I smiled to the sky.
About a month before my brother died, my brother, his two sons, my husband, and I participated in a discussion to determine his treatment, with input from his doctor.
I was recording it.
“I have enjoyed my life enough.”
My brother said,
Today, I listened to it again.
=We are suddenly told that we have only a few days to live sometime after today.
Or we will suddenly die. This is reality.=
I don’t want to regret my life when I die.
So, I always try to enjoy every day even if it’s not a good day.
That way, when my life is over, I’m sure I will be able to say that like my brother.
I have an electronic piano in my house. It’s been a long time since I played the piano.🎹 It was fun!😄 I will continue practicing piano for a while. I hope you enjoyed my playing. Thank you.
I recently read a novel.
There were five episodes, and each story contained information about the moon.
I was interested not only in the content, but also in the information about the moon in the book.
In Japan, there is a children’s song called “Tsuki”.
In its lyrics, the shape of the full moon is described as round and flat like a tray.
Surly, we see the moon as like a flat disk, as in the lyrics, but actually the moon is a sphere.
Why do we see the moon flat?
It is because of a certain substance. It is a powder-like substance called regolith, which is found on the surface of the Moon.
Regolith is a flour-like powder, and powdered regolith scatters light in all directions.
This light reaches the entire moon, making it appear flat.
The moon may be pretending to be a human, and it is making up. 😊
“Hey! Look at me!!” Something like that? No way! (laugh) But so cute and the moon is interesting!! 💕
