Coloring book, what a found memory!
In the past few years, coloring books for adult is popular in Japan.
Coloring is fun, and people say that it has therapy effect.
I have 36 colored pencils.
When I’ve started to do coloring, I thought that 36 colors were enough.
However, when I try to paint with the same type of color, it makes me want to buy some other colored pencils which are subtly different each.
What color do you like?
I became unable to choose one color, though I liked purple colored pencil when I was a child.
I’ve realized that every colors have their own great characters.

塗り絵、なんて懐かしいんでしょう！
ここ数年、日本では大人の塗り絵が流行っています。
塗り絵は楽しいし、セラピー効果もあるそうです。
私は36色の色鉛筆を持っています。
塗り絵を始めたとき、36色で十分だと思いました。
でも、同系色で塗ろうとすると、微妙に違う色が欲しくなっちゃいます。
あなたは何色が好きですか？
子供のころは紫色の色鉛筆が好きだったのに、今は一つを選べなくなりました。
それぞれの色の良さに気が付いてしまったから。

 

A new blouse came from an old dress. 古い服から新しいブラウスに

Shoot!
I forgot to take a picture before I cut the dress.
Therefore, I put back the cut parts on the original place and took the picture.
The first picture is that.
I hope you can guess the original figure of the dress.
I cut the dress and used the cut parts for sleeves of new dress.
While I was cutting the dress, I found a spot on the dress.
The spot part would become the bottom of the new dress, so I made a corsage to hide it.
When I was about to sew the corsage on the bottom of the new dress, I found another spot!
Boy!
They might be stains of spilled food. (embarrassed)
I made the same corsage one more.
OK.
My old dress became a new blouse. I think it is better than the old dress.
I like it.

しまった～！
服を切る前に写真を撮るの、忘れちゃった。
なので、切り取ったところを元の場所に置いて写真を撮ったの。
最初の写真がそれ。
元の形を想像してもらえると嬉しいんだけど。
チュニック丈のトップスを切って、切った部分を袖にしてみたの。
で、カットしているときに、染みがあることに気づいたの。
その場所は新しい服の裾の部分になるところ、だから隠すためにコサージュを作ったわ。
で、そのコサージュを縫い付けているとき、もう一つ染みを見つけたの！
もう！
食べこぼしの染みかもね。（かっこ悪～）
もう一つコサージュを作って。
オッケー。
古いドレスが新しいブラウスになったわ。前のよりいいと思う。
うん、いいじゃん。

 

 

Kishiwada Castle 岸和田城

I visited Kishiwada castle this weekend.
To be honest, I was not interested in any castles of Japan.
Whenever I went to some cathedrals in other countries, I felt that the architectures were so nice.
I mean, the exterior and interior both were wonderful.
I’m not sure why I compare to Japan’s castles, but anyway, the interior of castles were not interesting. It was always boring!
However, I learned something this time. The good thing is outside.
Kishiwada is a big city, but there were some greens around the castle.
Moreover, the moat had rich water and the color was beautiful green.
Therefore, I enjoyed just the exterior of the castle and atmosphere.
By the way, when I told this story to my English teacher who is American, I got an interesting story from her.
There is no castles in America, because it is a young country.
They don’t have any King, Queen, Prince, Princess and Emperor.
It’s no wonder, but interesting! It never crossed my mind.

この週末に岸和田城に行きました。
実は、日本のお城にはあまり興味がありませんでした。
海外の大聖堂を見学するといつも、素敵だなと思います。
大聖堂の外も内も素晴らしいのです。
何で大聖堂と比較するのか自分でもよくわからないけど、とにかく、お城は内部がつまらない。
だけど今回、ちょっと学びました。素晴らしさは外にあったのです。
岸和田は大きな街です。でもお城の周りにはたくさん緑があります。
さらに、豊かなお水の堀があります。
私はお城の外観とまわりの雰囲気を楽しむことができたのです。
ところで、この話をアメリカ人の英語の先生に話したとき、おもしろい事を聞きました。
アメリカにはお城がないということです。
アメリカは若い国なので、キングもクイーンもプリンスもプリンセスも皇帝もいないのです。
当たり前のことだけど、面白いわ！今まで考えもしなかったことです。

　

Ouch! 痛い！！

My husband was stung by larva of monema flavescens.
The pain was like a bee sting.
Monema flavescen is caterpillars.
The shape is rectangle and the color is light green.
It has a lot of toxic stings.
OK, I’ll write how to do for quick cure.
First, you have to remove the stings with packing tapes.
Second, wash and rinse your diseased part.
Lastly, apply medicine for insect bites on it.　(The price was around 1000 yen.)
In my husband’s case, his diseased part had a lot of red spots and the whole of the part was a little bit swollen up.
However, he did upon the procedure, after only about 30 minutes, his skin became normal though kept some itch.
He recovered completely next morning.

主人がイラガの幼虫に刺されました。
ハチに刺されたような痛みだったそうです。
イラガは毛虫の一種です。
長方形で黄緑色をしています。
たくさんの毒針を持っています。
刺された時の応急処置を書いておきます。
最初に、ガムテープで毒針を抜きます。
次に、お水で患部を洗い流します。
最後に、虫刺されの薬を塗ります。（1000円ぐらいで買えます）
主人の場合、赤いブツブツがたくさんでき、全体が少し腫れていました。
でも、上記の処置のあと、痒みは残っていましたが、わずか30分ぐらいで元の状態になりました。
翌朝にはもうすっかり治っていました。

TITMICE シジュウカラ

I like bird’s singing.
Probably, you like it too.
However, it would be difficult to hear it, if you live in a big city.
Listen to me!
I’ve been hearing song of a bird for these days.
The bird was on an electric pole and it was a little bit high place.
I learnt the size was small like sparrows, and tail was a little long.
I recorded the sound, but couldn’t take a picture, because it flew away when I was about to take the picture.
Probably it knew that I had tried to take its picture.
Birds are very sensitive.
I believe my brother is an expert at birds, so I asked him what the bird was.
Unfortunately, it was not his field, so he didn’t know about that.
I tried to find the name through the internet.
I typed the sound which I heard “spitch spitch spitch” in my word on Google.
Luckily, I got the same question the answer.
The bird’s name was titmouse. It is a very famous bird in Japan.
I’m not sure much about birds but I’ve already known the name, it was just the name, though.
I am happy to know the name and especially I can hear the voice here!
I searched the bird’s photos on PC. They are so cute!
Thanks to the titmouse. You must be singing for me.
I’ve enjoyed the singing voice and it has been making me happy since then.

私は鳥のさえずりが好きです。
きっとあなたもそうでしょう。
でも、こんな大きな街に住んでいると鳥の鳴き声を聞くことってあまりないでしょう。
聞いてください！
ここ数日、鳥のさえずりが聞こえるのです。
そも鳥は 電柱に留まってるんだけど、ちょっと高い場所なのです。
サイズは雀ぐらいで、尾っぽがちょっと長いということはわかりました。
声を録音することは出来たのですが、写真を撮ろうとしたら逃げちゃいました。
たぶん写真を撮ろうとしたことがわかったのですね。
鳥は敏感です。
私の兄は鳥のエキスパートだと思います。なので聞いてみました。
残念ながら、鳴き声は兄の専門分野じゃなかったようです。
そこで、ネットで調べることにしました。
グーグルの検索で、その鳴き声を聞こえたまま入力してみたのです。
「スピッチスピッチ」
ラッキーなことに、同じ疑問を持った人の答えが見つかったのです。
その鳥の名前は「シジュウカラ」でした。日本では有名な鳥です。
鳥の事をよく知らない私でもその名前は知っていました。名前だけですが。
鳥の名前がわかって、特にここでそのさえずりを聞けるなんてすごく嬉しいです！
どんあ姿なんだろうと検索してみました。可愛いです！
シジュウカラよ、ありがとう。君は私のために歌っているのね。
その時以来、シジュウカラ君の鳴き声をを楽しんでいます。
あー、幸せだわ。

A key holder cahnged to a pendant. キーホルダーがペンダントに

I received a key holder from one of my acquaintances.
She visited Yamato-Koriyama in Nara prefecture last month, and bought the key holder as a souvenir for me.
Yamato-Koriyama is a famous place for farming of goldfish.
Speaking of summer, festivals.
Talking of festivals, goldfish!
Anyway, the key holder had a round glass and there was a small goldfish in it.
The red goldfish is cute and I like it.
However, I have some key holders and don’t need another one anymore.
When I looked on the round glass, a good idea came to me.
I took out the round glass and a ring from the holder, and I inserted a string into the ring.
The key holder changed to a pendant quickly.
It looks cool, because the goldfish is as if being in water.
Moreover, it reminds me “Finding Nemo”.

知り合いの方にキーホルダーをいただいた。
彼女は奈良の大和郡山に行っていたそうで、お土産にと私にくれたのだ。
大和郡山は金魚の養殖で有名だ。
夏といえばお祭り。
お祭りといえば、金魚！
とにかく、そのキーホルダーには金魚が入った丸いガラス玉が付いていた。
その赤い金魚はかわいくて、私は好きだ。
でも、もうキーホルダーはたくさんあるし、これ以上必要ない。
そのガラス球を眺めていると、いいアイデアが浮かんだ。
キーホルダーからガラス球と輪っかを取り外し、その輪っかに紐を通した。
キーホルダーがペンダントに早変わり。
金魚がお水の中にいるようで涼しげだ。
そしたらニモを思い出した。
写真を見てね。似てるよね？

Funny sound 面白い音

I installed an app on my smartphone.
It checks my sleeping condition.
I couldn’t believe it at first, but is shows me when I fell asleep and how many hours I slept and so on.
It has a function to record, so I can listen to my sleep talking.
The first day, it didn’t have any recording, but I found some recordings on the next day.
I was curious what I said.
I heard very funny sound. Can you guess what the sound was?
It was Belle’s snoring!!
Belle is my pet Maltese dog. I didn’t know she was on my bed at that night.
She is very small and cute, so snoring is not match for her.
However, when I listened to her snoring, I was very happy.
She must have a very happy life.

スマホにアプリをインストールしました。
そのアプリ、私の睡眠をチェックしてくれるのです。
最初、信じられなかったんだけど、私がいつ眠りに落ちたか、何時間眠っているかなど表示してくれるのです。
そのアプリ、録音機能もついていて、寝言を聞くことができるのです。
最初の日は、何も録音されていませんでしたが、次の日、5回も録音されていたのです。
私、なんて言ってるんだろう？ととても興味がわきました。
で、すごくおもいろい音を聞いたのです。何だと思う？
それは、ベルのいびきだったのです！
ベルは私のペットのマルチーズ犬です。その日の夜、ベルが私のベッドで寝ているのを知らなかったのです。
ベルはとても小さくてかわいいの。だから「いびき」は似合わないはず。
でも、ベルのいびきを聞いたとき、幸せだなと思いました。
ベルは幸せな人生（犬生？）を送っているに違いありません。
